Vancouver Preschool
At Little Rae Kids Club, our goal is to assist children in developing respect, self-control, self-confidence and sensitivity in their interactions with others.
We believe that children will learn through play and play is the natural way for a child to learn. Our Vancouver Preschool play-based program has daily routines that included structured and non-structured activities that provide an opportunity for individual and group play. Children will also have a variety of experiences each day.
In September 2010, Little Rae will implement a French class in our 5 days and 3 days preschool program. Little Rae chosen AIM Learning Program to use in our classroom.
AIM Learning Program was created by Wendy and Max Maxwell, www.aimlanguagelearning.com the program listed to be the best for effective, second language acquisition. The Program provides plenty of opportunities to practice repetition of vocabulary along with visual cues that are fun for the students to act out. A variety of songs and plays engage the students allowing for different learning styles; listening, seeing and touch/experience learners.
Because AIM program is used in a preschool setting, which is adapted to their age and abilities. The written portion is omitted, and the focus is on the gesture approach, which really helps the students retain vocabulary who have had little exposure to the language. Through a number of songs, stories and games the students will learn to question and respond to questions.
The goal of the Little Rae French program is to learn an introductory level of French in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The children will learn a number of French songs and games. The final goal is to act out a short French play that will be presented to the parents at the end of the school year.
